How do you react when your toddler wants more food during a meal or snack?
I know my gut reaction is always a grunt or a sigh (usually not out loud, ha!) because #1, I probably JUST sat down, and the one thing he’s asking for is back in the fridge, or #2, I was secretly hoping he would simply devour all his veggies and say “wow mom, what a delicious and nutritious meal.” (A girl can dream, right?)
So what’s a mom or dad to do when there’s still plenty of other food on the plate, but the wee dictator demands more of something? (more…)

Mornings are the most rushed part of the day in our house…is it that way for you too? Getting everyone out of bed, dressed, fed, and out the door on time makes me feel like a superhero. Well, I feel like a superhero after everyone is strapped down into their car seats. That’s when I breathe for the first time since hopping out of bed. During the morning routine, I feel like my three year old is the boss, and I’m just trying to find ways to convince him to put his pants on without losing my temper.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I over-complicate things with snacks. I think they’re too boring, or not “enough.” But there is NOTHING wrong with keeping it simple!
Often, the simple snacks are the healthiest. I like having some special fun snacks and treats on hand, but for everyday school snacks, easy and inexpensive is my motto.
